In today’s video, I discuss how to escape the red pill and why it’s important to find balance in your perspective on relationships

Zachary Stockill: Recently on my TikTok account, I got an interesting question from one of my viewers: “How do I escape from the red pill world?”
In today’s video, I’ll do my best to answer that.
My name is Zachary Stockill and since 2013, and I’ve been helping men and women from around the world overcome retroactive jealousy and save their relationships.

Before we dive into how to escape the red pill world, it’s important to first understand what the red pill world actually is.
It’s a bit tricky to pin down and describe, but I’ll do my best.
When people use the term “red pill” in this context, they’re referring to a part of the internet where many men are trying to understand dating and women, often relying on evolutionary psychology.
They also draw what we might call politically incorrect conclusions about what men and women want from dating and how the sexes should deal with each other.
These views often have an edgy, politically incorrect tone when it comes to relationships and dating. And to be clear, I’m not saying it’s all wrong.
Absolutely not. There’s a lot of wisdom there, and many perspectives that guys could benefit from.
However, I think it’s fair to say that spending too much time on that part of the internet can become pretty toxic.
It’s undeniable that the red pill world attracts a lot of angry men.
It could be guys who’ve been through a bad divorce, are in the middle of a custody battle with their ex or soon-to-be ex-wife, or maybe they’ve had a string of bad dating experiences over the years.
Naturally, this can lead to a lot of bitterness, resentment, and confusion.
And so, they come across the red pill world, believing they’ve found the answers they’ve been searching for.
They also find a lot of sympathetic voices—other men telling them, in many cases, what they want to hear.
These are often uncomfortable truths that resonate with their needs as wounded men.
To some extent, I understand the appeal. I think it’s a world many men could benefit from being somewhat familiar with, but if you spend too much time there, especially for a long period, it can become pretty toxic.
So, how do you escape the red pill world?
First, I’d say, remember that all-consuming ideologies are dangerous—at least in my view.
Any teacher, philosophy, book, or person who claims to have all the answers on a certain topic is someone you should probably avoid.

Even though I’ve gained some recognition in my small corner of the internet dealing with retroactive jealousy, I would never claim to have all the answers, and I certainly wouldn’t suggest you ignore everyone else’s perspective.
I’m known as the retroactive jealousy guy, but that doesn’t mean no one else has anything valuable to say on the topic. That’s simply not true.
I learn something new every day, and there’s always more to understand about this and everything else I discuss on my channel.
So, I would advise you to steer clear of anyone claiming to have all the answers on any subject.
You don’t want to spend all your time in an echo chamber, which is often how the red pill world operates.
You have groups of men, many of whom are angry or wounded, and it turns into, for lack of a better term, a cycle of grievances, victim mentalities, and constant complaining.
It can become pretty toxic. In my opinion, as a general rule, all-consuming ideologies are something to avoid.
My second point is to remember to take the best and leave the rest.
This should apply to any school of thought, book, teacher, or philosophy—just take the lessons you need to learn.
Take the valuable lessons and discard the rest. We’re living in an interesting time where, the moment someone says something even slightly controversial, we tend to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
We want to discredit everything they’ve ever said because of one comment that might be inaccurate or a bit controversial.
To me, that’s absolutely ridiculous.
For example, I follow a few YouTubers who talk about fitness, and sometimes they also discuss politics. I don’t usually agree with their political views, and that’s fine, but they offer valuable fitness advice.
So, I don’t focus too much on their politics, but I still learn from them because their fitness tips are useful.
I think you can take the same approach with the red pill world.
For example, some lessons they teach are valuable, like protecting your finances when getting married or moving in with someone—that’s an important lesson.
Another example is acknowledging that women, like men, have strong, instinctual sexual desires.
Absolutely, that’s another important lesson.
I could list more, but the lessons that resonate with you will likely be different from the ones I might mention now.
The key is to identify the beliefs, values, or perspectives that are truly valuable and work for you—embrace those, and leave the rest behind.
Take the best and leave the rest. My third point is to always keep expanding your knowledge. This ties back to my first point about avoiding all-consuming ideologies.
Read books by authors you haven’t considered before. On YouTube, for example, explore the opposite side of whatever issue you’re looking into.
Expanding your knowledge is always a good idea. It gives you new perspectives that can shape your opinions.
Sometimes your views may be challenged, or even completely changed, by something new you read or watch.
Keep an open mind, and by continually broadening your knowledge, you’ll eventually reach the best conclusions.
Point number four in escaping the red pill world: remember that women don’t actually come from Venus. There’s a famous relationship book by John Gray called Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

It was a huge hit in the 90s—I remember my mother had a copy, and I read it.
There’s some valuable stuff in the book. But the idea that men are from mars and women are from venus doesn’t sit well with me.
In the Red Pill world, they often talk about women as if they’re aliens from another planet with completely different goals when it comes to relationships and dating.
They talk about women as if they have completely different goals in relationships, like they’re a different species. But remember, we’re not a different species.
While men and women are definitely very different. I could talk about that all day. We’re still not entirely separate or alien to one another.
So, be cautious of the red pill fallacy that treats women like they’re creatures from another galaxy. I promise you, they’re not.
When it comes to escaping the red pill world, also remember to consider the source.
I have to be careful with how I say this… But let’s just say, in the red pill world, there are a lot of guys putting on a really good show, right?
They puff up their chests, lower their voices, show off in sports cars, and always do that duck face… Trying to look cool, suave, tough, and super alpha. Right?
Here’s the thing—I’ve met a lot of these guys over the years.
I’ve spent a lot of time in places like Bali, Indonesia, and Chiang Mai, Thailand. These are hubs for people who work online and run online businesses.
Many coaches, online entrepreneurs, and YouTube personalities end up in these spots. I’ve also traveled elsewhere and met quite a few of these guys in person.
Often, the reality is very different from how they portray themselves online. And it usually doesn’t take much to see through that.
If it feels like they’re putting on a front or trying too hard to appear super cool, with everything carefully calculated to make them look as alpha and confident as possible, they’re probably putting on a show.
The reality behind the scenes is likely very different. So, whenever you’re taking advice from someone, always consider the source.
Also, keep in mind that the red pill does get one thing right—there is a dark side to female sexuality and femininity.
Women can be conniving, manipulative, and self-centered, and that’s true. There is a dark side to women. But the bright side is just as strong and very, very bright too.
In the red pill world, you often hear a lot about the dark side of women, female nature, and femininity. But you don’t hear nearly as much about the bright side.
And again, the bright side is incredibly bright. I could spend hours talking about this. If you don’t mind me getting personal, I’ll share something briefly.
I’m in my mid to late 30s now, and I’ve been dating for about 20 years. I’ve dated a lot of women and have plenty of experience with both relationships and being single.
The vast majority of my experiences have been positive. There’s also something important I want to add here.
I’m not naive. In my twenties, I spent years as a DJ in small clubs, playing every weekend.
Over that time, I saw a lot of the dark side of feminine sexuality and women in general, just as I’ve seen the dark side of many men. I won’t go into detail, but I’ve seen a lot.
Even with all these experiences, especially in my own dating life, I can tell you that the bright side is incredibly bright.
When you’re dating and trying to find a relationship or meet someone new, I believe you’ll often find what you’re looking for.
A lot of red pill guys are constantly on guard, trying to figure out if she’s a gold digger, a party girl, or has some other negative trait.
If you’re always looking for the dark side, it will be much harder to see the bright side, to see the good.
So keep that in mind. Yes, there is a dark side to women, but the bright side is just as incredible. Above all, it’s important to stress balance in everything.
If you’re asking how to escape the red pill world, that tells me it’s probably time for you to broaden your knowledge, find new role models, explore different YouTube channels, and maybe read some new books. Expand your understanding as much as you can.
Remember, there is some wisdom to be found in that corner of the internet. But you don’t want to live there.
I know this video is getting long, so I’ll be brief:
I do keep an eye on the red pill world. I follow a few channels to stay updated and keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening there.
Some of these guys host two or three-hour internet shows, and it’s just grievance after grievance, victim mentality after victim mentality. With constant talk about how terrible women are.
I think to myself, if I were a young guy without much experience with women, and I was watching this every week—or even every day… My mindset about dating would definitely become warped.
So, proceed with caution, take the best and leave the rest. Eventually, you’ll be able to break away, at least partially, from the red pill world.
