In today’s video, I’m going to talk about “What are good problems?,” a concept that can transform the way we perceive challenges in our lives.
Read or watch below to learn more about how identifying and appreciating ‘good problems’ can lead to a more positive and grateful mindset, even during tough times.
Zachary Stockill: Over the past two or three months, I’ve been experiencing a significant amount of stress in my personal life.
Today, I’ll share some details about this and talk about an important change in perspective that has been incredibly beneficial for me.
My name is Zachary Stockill, and since 2013, I’ve been helping men and women worldwide overcome retroactive jealousy and save their relationships.

Now, for a quick update on my personal life:
I’ve moved into a newly built home for the first time in the past few months. When I say ‘newly built,’ I mean this place was just constructed.
It turns out that moving into a brand-new home involves endless renovations, repairs, and adjustments.
From plumbing issues to various things that don’t work and need replacing, workers have been coming in and out of my home for three months.
This has made it nearly impossible to record videos like this and get anything done.
There are millions, perhaps even over a billion people, who would envy you endlessly if they knew about your situation, even during that fight with your partner.
There are many deeply lonely people out there who would do anything to have a companion like yours.
Here’s another example: I spend part of the year in Asia, and food poisoning is a common occurrence.
In Bali, where I am currently, we refer to it as ‘Bali belly.’ It’s what you get when you eat some noodles or something that isn’t quite right, and guess what?
You end up sick for a couple of days, which is no fun and a real problem.
But guess what?
You have money to buy food, and maybe you even have the chance to try something interesting, some unique kind of food, even if the outcome isn’t great.
You’re stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing something new.
You’re eating; you have food. So yes, it’s a problem when it leads to food poisoning, and it’s certainly not pleasant.
I know this from my own experiences with food poisoning over the years. However, it’s still a good problem to have.
You can choose to view almost any problem you face in life as a good problem.
On the other hand, bad problems include things like losing a family member or a loved one, being diagnosed with a terrible disease that has a low chance of survival, or having your house destroyed by a hurricane.
Something like that.
There are lots of truly bad problems with almost no solution, or maybe even no solution. ─ Those are the worst problems in life.
And quite often, when we have good problems, I think, in our heads, we’re almost treating them like they’re bad problems.
But they’re not. They’re good problems.
In any situation in life, we have the chance to practice appreciation and gratitude, to change our perspective, and to concentrate on what we have instead of what we lack.
So, what am I missing right now? I don’t have much peace, with all the noise happening around me. There’s not much time to record videos like this and complete my work.
But what do I have?
I have a fancy camera that I love, and I’ve got a beautiful place to live that will be even more beautiful once all the work is finished.
There are many more things in my life that I’m thankful for. Even though I’m going through a stressful few months at the moment, there’s still so much to be grateful for.
I’m thankful for my good problems, and I hope this video inspires you to view your problems a bit differently this week.
As the construction noise picks up once more, I hope you take something valuable from this video. Keep this perspective in mind because it might be very helpful to you.
