In today’s video, I tackle the issue of ‘when overcoming retroactive jealousy is impossible’ and offer a fresh perspective on it.
Read or watch below to learn more about this topic – when overcoming retroactive jealousy is impossible.
Zachary Stockill: If you’ve been following my channel for some time, you’ve probably heard me mention more than once that beating retroactive jealousy is absolutely possible.
I’m living proof, and there are so many testimonials on my website from others who have done the same. We’re like a small army of people who have overcome retroactive jealousy.
“But is overcoming retroactive jealousy always possible?” I think the answer might surprise you.
My name is Zachary Stockill, and since 2013, I’ve been helping men and women from all over the world overcome retroactive jealousy and save their relationships If you’d like more information about my work, please visit this link.
You’ve probably heard me say that beating retroactive jealousy is often possible, but is it always possible?
In other words, sometimes it’s really just a manifestation of fear, doubt, uncertainty, fear of losing our partner, and maybe even a subconscious fear of commitment because we don’t know what the future holds.
But isn’t that the case for everyone, right?
Whenever we enter a relationship, the future is always a mystery. Sometimes our concerns about our partner’s past values are more or less irrational.
Other times, they’re not. And this might come as a surprise to some of you watching, because I think there’s a perception that I advocate for always staying with your partner and that anything can be worked through. But fundamentally, I don’t believe that.
That’s not true. Sometimes, it becomes very clear—often through our partner’s actions in the present, which I’ll touch on shortly—that our values and our partner’s values are fundamentally misaligned.
We don’t want to head in the same direction at our core.
Or even if we do want to move in the same direction as a couple in our lives, there might be just too many doubts and questions about my partner’s past that you can’t cope with.
And that’s okay. If you reach that conclusion with a clear head, which is crucial, I won’t judge that decision.
There’s nothing wrong with that at all. However, I must offer my standard disclaimer whenever I discuss this topic:
If you want to truly understand who someone is, observe their actions in the present over a significant period. Eventually, the truth of who they are will come to light.
In other words, people often search for clues about who their partner is by delving into their past. However, simply being with them in the present can reveal a lot.
It can inform you about their fundamental character, at least in recent times, and it often indicates how they view their own past.
In other words, if you’ve been in a relationship with someone for five years and they’ve been exceptional—committed, trustworthy, faithful, devoted, loving, warm, and open—that’s likely to indicate that they value your relationship as much as you do.
And that’s likely to tell you more about their character than some isolated event from their past 15 years ago. Our actions over time reveal to the world who we truly are.
Again, I emphasize actions, not words, because if someone claims they’ve always wanted a relationship and yet their entire relationship history is marked by chaos, disorder, dishonesty, infidelity, and lies, then to understand who they are at their core, you should trust their actions over their words.
Anyway, I could talk about this all day.
I have many thoughts on the values question as it pertains to retroactive jealousy. I should also mention that I’ve recorded an entire video masterclass dedicated to this specific topic.
It’s titled “The Path to Peace,” and in this concise masterclass, which is only about two or maybe two and a half hours long, I guide you through the entire process of finding the answers you need about your partner’s values and determining if you’re a good match for the future.
Many people have found this extremely helpful, especially retroactive jealousy sufferers who have questions about values. I think you’ll want to check this class out.
Again, many have found it truly liberating.
It’s called “The Path to Peace.” You can get access to the course here.
